Ryn Swinson grew up under the tornado skies of Southwestern Oklahoma where she befriended ladybugs and sang along with cicada song. An observer from an early age, Ryn seemed to notice the small aspects of life that others appeared neglectful too, willing to document them for herself and find beauty in the most insignificant seeming moments.

Throughout her life, Ryn considered multiple careers, including a meteorologist and a marine biologist, however, being scientifically inept, she decided to be a writer and die penniless. She attended Cameron University in Lawton, OK, where she earned a B.A. in English and a minor in Professional Writing.

Like most Oklahoma creatives, Oklahoma is at the heart and soul of her art as she works to capture the beauty and often times violent nature of her home state.

Her writing has been recognized in parts of Oklahoma, often noted for its dark themes and vivid imagery. Her work has been published in The Gold Mine, Southwest Impressions, and The Cameron Collegian.

Besides writing, Ryn flaunts a growing collection of gnome figurines, enjoys thrifting, karaoke, occasional blogging, sunbathing with her cat, Ginzy, and filling her bookshelf with books she has yet to read. She currently houses nine gnomes, a vintage typewriter, and an overflowing bookshelf.

She currently remains in Oklahoma where she is found more often napping with her cat than writing.
